New release v1.57!

UI tweaks:
  • Interface settings now have a new Drag&Drop feature to rearrange RVP buttons and toggle visibility
  • Right click Copy/Move file to, to directly change destination directory
  • Implemented custom DPI scaling
  • Moved experimental “Ken burns effect” to it’s own tab

Optimization:
  • Tweaked progress seeking buffer
  • Some code refactoring

Additional Notes:
  • You can toggle mpv statistics with ctrl+j
It took a lot of work, but I’ve implemented a manual UI scaling based on DPI. The previous solutions were pretty bad, either the UI is messed up or with the compatibility settings, it lowers the resolution of the UI and the player. My own approach tries to solve this. Please let me know if you find any bugs :)

burryniceuser I'd love to hear from you. To test it, please update to 1.57 (Either through GitHub manually, or via RVPs About page directly) and remove the compatibility settings from the properties.

I should have mentioned before that I'm on Windows 10. Here's how version 1.57 appears on my system with no compatibility settings enabled. The interface including text is very small and the icons on the player itself are all invisible.

I can say as someone who has a ton of random programs on their computer, this is a very common issue so don't feel bad about not getting it first try. Personally I blame Windows for being shit.

Yeah me too. Can you tell me what resolution you're on? And which scaling setting?

I'm on 3440x1440, tested with 125%, 150%, 175%. Another User tested on 4K which worked. I'd like to know what breaks it.

And yeah, it's a pain since I'm using WinForms UI Framework and that can't handle this on itself :D

I'm at 3840x2160 at 300% scaling. It's the recommended scale according to Windows so I suspect a lot of people with 4K monitors use it.

I tested lower scaling by closing RVP and switching between them.
For the following three scale settings the icons become visible again:
250% - Scale is very small.
225% - Scale still too small.
200% - Scale seems small.

It's difficult for me to evaluate lower than 200% because the scale is way too small to begin with at least for me. I'm not sure what your ideal player UI is, but for the above scales it's very difficult to use. I've attached a screenshot of what the player looks like when I enable the system DPI scaling override. I don't know if that's your intended UI scale but it's very good I think.
