[edit]I've removed this from the article: In 1994, the 36-volume set costs $17,000.[1]. As of today this, including 3 supplementary volumes, is listed at Abebooks for $1,600. Name

Not really. The name "Treccani" comes from the surname of Giovanni Treccani, who was the editor of the encyclopedia. "three dogs" would translate to "tre cani". I can't find any info about the origin of this surname, but it looks like a toponymic surname... Nicelbole (talk) 13:24, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
- However, "tre" is one of the words in Italian that trigger doubling of the following consonant (raddoppiamento fonosintattico). So "Treccani" written as one word would not be pronounced any different than "tre cani" in neutral Italian. --147.142.162.242 (talk) 10:36, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
