A tag has been placed on your user page, User:CGSocialmedia/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Block notice

[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or website, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Request for Unblock and Username Change

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

CGSocialmedia (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I understand my block was due to the perception that my edits were promotional and my username violated Wikipedia’s guidelines by resembling a business or organization. I sincerely apologize for this oversight and now fully understand Wikipedia’s purpose of providing neutral, well-sourced, and non-promotional content.

Moving forward, I am committed to contributing high-quality, encyclopedic content that adheres to Wikipedia’s policies, with a focus on neutrality and reliable sourcing. I will avoid any edits that may appear promotional and ensure all my contributions serve the community’s goal of spreading unbiased knowledge.

Additionally, I confirm that I am not being compensated for my contributions. If I engage in any paid editing in the future, I will disclose it as required under Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure rules.

I respectfully request an unblock to contribute constructively to Wikipedia under my new username, CGEditor.

Decline reason:

We do not consider chatbot-generated requests. GPTZero score: 100%. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 20:01, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) Hi, can you please confirm what your relationship is with CG Social Media and what prompted you to create an article about them?
You should also read WP:Guide to appealing blocks and WP:COI before submitting another appeal. This is in addition to the links in the original block notice regarding paid editing, because it doesn't just refer to someone who is given money to specifically create/edit an article.
If you use AI to write your appeal, it will be too vague and not address the issues at hand - it also usually comes across as insincere & can give the impression that you're not actually looking into the circumstances of your block nor putting any effort into addressing it. You were blocked, not the AI, so you should be the one responding.
Please read both the pages I've linked thoroughly before trying again, otherwise you'll probably just be rejected again. If you only want to edit about your company, then you might not get very far - this is an encyclopedia, not an advertising site. Blue Sonnet (talk) 20:17, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
CG Social Media is my professional name; it is not an institution. I am writing an article about a person who is not currently featured on Wikipedia as a way to learn more about creating articles, as I am developing new skills in the field of writing. My dream is to have my own book and digital blogs. Although I don’t have much experience on Wikipedia, I have been studying all the proper ways to create an article correctly. Thank you for your understanding and responses. CGSocialmedia (talk) 20:30, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If the issue is the username, then I will change it. CGSocialmedia (talk) 20:32, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again @CGSocialmedia, part of the issue is your username (it needs to represent you as an individual, not your business, so your new suggestion might not be acceptable). If your business involves social media promotion or marketing then you definitely need to declare that because could well affect your editing.
I think your business might be graphic design, but there are a few businesses with similar names so it'd help if you were clear on what your business actually does? I won't go into detail because that's something we need you to confirm as part of your appeal.
I think you also might have muddied the waters with the picture that @331dot is asking you about below, because you've officially declared that it's your own work when you submitted it. If you took the picture off Instagram and aren't the photographer, or if you don't own the official copyright for that specific photo, you need to remove it asap - you can't release copyright that you don't have in the first place. If you do own it, that could play into the paid editing/promotion/COI issue that we're concerned about.
I can't see the deleted sandbox, but did you use AI to write the article? ChatGPT etc. tends to write in a promotional way (and literally make things up) so I'm wondering if that's what happened - your other edits are removing promotional language, so you understand what this is. If you are unblocked, I very strongly recommend avoiding using AI because it causes far more problems than it solves on here.
I hope this helps, can you please reply to 331dot's post below so we can keep things tidy? Thanks! Blue Sonnet (talk) 02:01, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am writing to request a reconsideration of the block on my account and approval for a username change.my edits may have appeared promotional, and I sincerely apologize. This was not my intention, and I now fully grasp the importance of neutrality and reliable sourcing. I confirm I am not compensated for my contributions and will strictly follow wikipedia’s policies. I request to change my username to "CGEditor" and focus on constructive edits aligned with Wikipedia’s mission. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. I'm writing this text with my own ideas. CGSocialmedia (talk) 20:23, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Given the laughably promotional nature of the deleted draft, your implication that you are writing in a professional capacity of some sort, and 331dot's question (as yet unanswered) below, it's clear to me that your intention here is to promote the subject of your draft, and that there is a reason why you've chosen her as your first topic to write about. You need to clearly and honestly answer the question regarding your relationship with the draft subject.

On a more general note, saying that you now "fully grasp the importance of neutrality " and will "focus on constructive edits aligned with Wikipedia’s mission" rings hollow and does not persuade me that this is actually the case. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:34, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You claim that this very professional image is your own personal work and that you hold the copyright to it. Please clarify your relationship with Tatiana Guiribitey. 331dot (talk) 01:00, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also worth noting, the wording of the block appeal above is similar to AI-generated block appeals I've seen on other accounts. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:41, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
